Taishō Series — Elite Class
A taishō commanded. His armor had to be recognisable across a field — a banner as much as a defence — while still doing everything the professional's suit did. That double duty is the design problem this class inherits.
Taishō sets are our elite grade. Hand-forged scales (kozane) rather than pressed plate. Genuine lacquer. Silk lacing. The helmet becomes the centrepiece: a properly raised bowl, a crest mounted so it reads correctly from the front and from three-quarters, a neck guard that flares with intent rather than by default. Fittings are cast rather than stamped.
The visible difference is symmetry and rhythm. Lacing rows land where the eye expects them, plate spacing repeats cleanly down the body, and the silhouette resolves from any angle. These are the things that reward close inspection, and they are why this class costs what it does.
Most sets here are modelled on a named commander — Oda Nobunaga, Yamamoto Kansuke, Sanada Yukimura, Mori Ranmaru. Full measured dimensions appear on every listing.
Typical delivery: about four weeks. Custom sizing adds roughly four weeks. Intended use: display, ceremony, exhibition, photography, and respectful non-contact wear.
