Oda Nobutaka Samurai Armor — Indigo and Black, Full Life-Size Set
Oda Nobutaka was Nobunaga's third son, and his life is a short lesson in what happened to the family after Honnō-ji. When his father was killed in 1582 the succession fell apart; Nobutaka backed Shibata Katsuie against Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Katsuie lost at Shizugatake, and Nobutaka was forced to take his own life the following year. He was twenty-five.
The armor is built in the Oda house style but in blue rather than the black of his father's sets — a distinction that would have read clearly on a field where everyone knew whose son he was.
Black lacquered plate through the cuirass with deep blue lacing at the skirt and sleeves, a forked crest at the brow, and white horsehair at the neck.
