Sanada Yukimura Samurai Armor — Crimson Red, Full Life-Size Set

$3,769.00 USD

Sanada Yukimura is the most popular loser in Japanese history. He held Osaka Castle against the Tokugawa in 1614 and 1615, built the fortification called Sanada-maru that broke assault after assault, and in the final battle drove a charge that reached Ieyasu's own command position before he was killed. The enemy chronicles call him the finest warrior in Japan.

His colour was red — the whole Sanada contingent wore it, so that a unit charging out of Osaka was visible as a single moving mass. His crest was the rokumonsen, six coins, the fare traditionally placed with the dead to cross the river into the afterlife. It was not a subtle statement about how the campaign was expected to end.

This set is red throughout: red lacquered cuirass, red lacing, black plate at the sleeves and skirt, and antlers at the brow.
